As a mom when your kids disobey you want to discipline them so as to avert further occurrences.
As the scripture teaches, `Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. ‘ (Prov. 22:6.)
Raising a godly child in this time and age requires grace because they are being exposed to a lot that you aren’t even aware of.
If a child is wrong before you discipline them let them know why, ensure they are aware of what they have done wrong if not the beating or punishment means nothing to them as they will still repeat the same act again.
The negative effects of beating your kids:
1.Most children even develop a stony heart and are never remorseful when they commit an offence because as a parent you haven’t explained the reason behind your actions to them.
2. Unnecessary beating can also allow the child keep to himself therefore even becoming more violent in the home.
3. When you beat or over punish a child anger becomes a part of them because most of them are angry about what you are doing but won’t be able to express themselves. They later turn out to be vagabonds.
4. The children develop a low self esteem. They constantly feel unloved or unworthy, learn to always correct out of love.
There should be a balance when it comes to disciplining a child.
